Score!

I was going through some old boxes tonight and found two tackle boxes that I had forgotten about. One just had some basic fly tying stuff, but the other was a real prize. A 1940-1950’s era tackle box(found originally in a house my parents bought 15 years ago) full of old feathers in about a dozen colors, various natural hair patches, a number of very old freshwater trout flies, a vintage vice and some other various and assundry items. I really forgot I had any of this stuff, packed it away at least 10 years ago. It’s funny I was just starting to think about picking up the longrod again and blam…I find this stuff. Looks like I’ll be trying my hand at tying flies again this winter.

The absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence.

awesome. my sister got me into collecting old tackle several xmas’s ago…I had to quit.It gets expensive- look @ ebay. The old stuff looks great, esp old feathers and such. If the hackles are old they might not wrap, hang em from a old fishing pic. what kind of vice is it?

skydog, gotta love that!

might as well be dead up here if i cant find that live bottom
