Scotty Accessories/New to Kayak Fishing

Morning all! Just received user name for the site, but I have been reading threads for several years. I recently traded a canoe for a Perception Sport Caster 12.5 fishing kayak and want to customize it for my needs. I have made several modifications, but still looking for a few items to make my experience on the water as comfortable as possible. I was wondering if there was a local Kayak Store which carried an assortment of Scotty attachments, i.e., Bait Board, rod holder extension, triple rod holder, etc. Also, took the yak out Saturday to Bushy Park at low and caught the rising tide. We both managed a few small cats and spent most of the time paddling around getting familiar with the kayaks. Needless to say, my forearms are ROCKED! Learned a lot on the first trip; however, would love to go out with someone who is familiar with the areas I DON’T have to fight the tides as much.

Time out Sports in Mt Pleasant is probably your best bet. They have tons of accessories.

Give me a PM if you ever want to go to Copahee some time. I’m trying to learn that area and dial in the reds over there.

Thanks for the help. I will have to check them out this weekend. I am finding out the milk crate isn’t the best option. Thinking about installing the PVC rod holder in the flush mounts behind the seat, then replacing the cooler with milk crate. RedFish4; I will def. have to get with you in a couple of weeks.

2nd, Time Out Sport & Ski and as you get into it more and more your set up will keep changing. I have things that don’t use laying around in the garage now. To keep your fore arms from wearing out hold the paddle and use more of your core to pull the paddle back. Hope this helps and don’t forget to check out the Lowcountrykayakanglers link here on Charleston fishing or the Facebook page or web site for any up coming events where you can meet a lot of other kayaker’s.
