Does anyone have one of these Scouts and if so how does it handle the chop? Have not taken a test ride yet but I like the layout. Any complaints?
I have one and love the boat. It handles chop very well. i have zero complaints on the boat except that I never get to use it.

I have one and the bigger engine (250) is nice when you have more than 3 in the boat. The boat is fast about 63 mph and fun to drive. It will fish 4 in comfort and handles the chop well, dry riding boat when you learn how to drive it. Tons of storage, livewell system is over designed but it is a very nice bay boat with shallow draft about 10-11", wish they made this boat in a 24’.
Love mine, really does well in chop if you get up on top. I really like the way its layed out for fishing.

I don’t know about much better or better for that matter. I did my homework looking for a new 22’ boat and I don’t know if I seen a much better boat for the money. For me it came down to two. The Scout and Shearwater and you seen what I ended up with. They were about the same price.

I have a 2007 that I am considering selling. I sold lots of Scouts when I was in the Retail boat business. The Winyah was my favorite boat in the line. It has been a great boat, but my new job does not allow near the free time. Nor does my 6 week old!
I know the boat very well, so let me know if I can help.

I agree with the above statement of “There are much better boats for the money good luck though.”
Very interested in opinions on other boats…kinda looking for a new ride(maybe). thanks

Check out Triton, Pathfinder and Ranger. I have the Ranger 21’8" Bayboat and love it. All the above boats as well as the Scout I would consider well made and good choices for this area.
If you can find a Coastal Bay by ActionCraft get it. I have owned both.
