Scouts

New to the forum and looking for some advice. I do a lot of inshore fishing mainly inlets, creeks, and estuaries. Have been looking at scout boats ranging from the 151 up to the 187. Also, it has been a couple years since they came out but what do y’all think about the “hybrid” boat they produced in 2008?

Coming from someone who worked at Scout for several years, I can honestly say that you get what you pay for. Great craftsmenship and attention to detail. If I could afford one I would own one in a heartbeat. Just my 2 cents…change please!

I had a 17’ cc for 10 years. Great boat. Does everything from fairly shallow to the jetties and close reefs. Shrimping from it was awesome. Kind of a hard ride in a sharp chop to due the hull design but also a very stable boat. Workmanship was excellent. Good luck.

Looked at a Scout 245 XSF, got the price and could buy and Edgewater or similar for the same money. Buying a Pioneer, better boat, a whole lot less money.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

I had a 2008 20 Bayscout. Great riding boat, and everything except the wiring was perfect. Under the console, it looked like a birdnest. Other than that I had no complaints. Sold it last year because of deployment.

I have a 2003 185 SF that I fish back in North Inlet and run 20+ miles out in the ocean. Also pulls kids wakeboarding all day long on Lake Hartwell. It has been a good boat.
