screwed up

Thanks for the offer. Salty helped me 2 years ago to track a deer with his dog. This time he was in N Carolina when it happened. How inconsiderate of Salty working when He should have been available to help “old dead eye” track another deer.
I now officially have enough practice tracking deer. I am getting very good at it. Now, I need to turn my attention to practicing hitting what I am shooting at:smiley:
My property is near Santee

Hunting, fishing, and poker are my sports. Work when necessary.

That’s was last year partnership, the only deer we put her on that wasn’t recovered, thanks for messing up her batting average!( I think she was at 12 or 14 on the year when we tracked that one) I might would go buy a few boxes of ammo and get some range time before riding back up here. And cracker Larry, well, you can tell all the tall tales you want buddy, I have enough common sense and time in the woods to know a deer, when shot poorly, will in fact lay up a reasonable distance if not pushed. Seen it more than a few times, but to each is own. I’ve also tracked deer/and eventually pushed them a mile or 2 myself. Patience is a virtue and after you booger up the shot its your only option. I just hope someone out there reading this who isn’t as experienced will have a little faith and wait the deer out after making a bad shot in the future.
