SCSSA 6/7 report

Left Beresford Cr. at 4:45 heading towards Gtown hole. Phone rings at 4:55 as one of our crew that we had written off proceeds to tell us that he overslept. Told him to be at A dock in the next 15 minutes or he’s sitting this one out. He ran every light between John’s Island and Mt P and came running down A dock just as we idled up. Good timing. Ride out was calm and all looked promising. Lines in at 8 as per rules. Double break off wahoo spread blitz at 10:30. That was about it until we happened upon a little dolphin hit at 1-2pm. Ended the day w/ 2 slingers, a 21, and a 31 lber. The 31 almost had the last laugh when it tail slapped a brand new tiagra 50w combo into the drink. Quick thinking by our A dock transient pickup saved the combo as he grabbed the last bit of line as it went over the side. Hand lined the combo back to safety to definitely avoid an expensive disaster.

I was on the chase to catch the boat and for that slung tiagra 50W!
Good day overall. Morning was a bit slow as everyone else. Picked up the mahis in 150-175 feet of water.
