SCSSA Early Bird this weekend

Captains meeting at Finz this Thursday. Registration starts at 6:30, rules at 7:30. Fish day is Saturday. For rules and information, please visit www.scssa.info. Target species will be tuna, dolphin, wahoo, and kings. Entry is $100 per boat for members, all twt categories are 100% payback.

Hopefully the bite continues to be good and the weather cooperates. Look forward to seeing everyone there. We’ll see how Sadie Beth does defending their club title from last year.

Is this a members only tournament?
If so, all members of the team or the captain?
thank you.

No, we only require 1 member for each boat this event. Memberships are open and will be available at registration. Generally speaking, the member registers the boat. As for our year long points system, anglers do not accrue points until current on membership.
Thanks for the clarification request.

The Charleston weigh in will not be at the Megadock this weekend- they have a conflict. The crew at the Cooper River Marina has graciously offered us the use of their pier. Thanks Matt!

Why fish this tournament with only four or five boats??

Southern Comfort

Small turnout of club boats. Nice ocean with a bite that generally started slow. I think the total reported for the group was about 65 dolphin, largest weighed on ripple effect. 3 Blackfin tuna, 3 wahoo- all on Sadie Beth. Bunch of donkeys and bonitos reported on the ledge north. 1 blue release, 1 other seen- both north and unusually shallow. Most of the dolphin were in the 300’s in about 350’; heard that the largest was Caught in the wild blue yonder. Full results should be on our web page tonight. Top club boat, male, and female angler by club points are the Sadie Beth, Gerald Friend, and Tink Wallace.

Hope to have a better turnout for our next tournament.
