Scupper problem solved

My 212 sea Hunt with a 225 is stern heavy.I tried every product made to make the scuppers work.Ping pong ball thingy, flappers,Cork plug. All failed for one reason or another water still came in.Nothing worked until!! I went to Seels marine and found a screw type plug.I put it in the scupper and drilled 2 small holes in the scupper face and mounted the new unit.I then sealed the entire face of the scupper except the part where the new screw plug enters with water proof sealer.Worked like a charm. No water with 3 people in the stern. You just need to remember to unscrew the plug and open the scupper if you leave your boat in the water.Rain water will fill your boat up and sink it. It was nice to fish with dry feet!!!:smiley::smiley:

I have a 2001 Sea Pro that has always had the same problem. Thanks so much for posting this. I’m headed to Seels this week to get some of those and fix mine as well.

Iv always used a rubber stopper and it works great, Cheap and no holes. I believe I got it from Lowe’s. But as long as you have something that works, that’s all that matters.

fish nude so u can show off ur pole…

I’ve been in three seapro’s and they have all had that same problem

The problem with mine is my 2001 Yamaha 115 4-stroke. It is really too heavy for my 17’10" boat. The scuppers are barely above the water line even with no one in the stern. When one person goes back there they go below the waterline. A better choice would have been a 2 stroke 90. I bought the whole outfit new back then and had no idea that that motor weighed so much. All that said, it has been a good boat for the money and the motor has been great with zero issues other than regular maintainence. I have learned quite a lot since then and have a whole list of things to check when purchasing my next boat.

on my 21ft sea pro water doe not come in them. I have a 2 stroke though.

I have a SeaPro 23.5 WA with the the F225 and an F25 on back with no problem like that. It may be that added weight forward?

i have the seapro sv1900 bay boat and it has always allowed water in. i need to find some plugs also.

My boat is now completely dry.Just remember to unscrew the plugs and just pull them out. They have a plastic tag that allows you to do this.Seels has them in black and white.
