25’ Class, Twin Engine App, 2008 and up…Pros and Cons??
I have a 246 Commander Sea Fox, 2014, with a 300 Yamaha. It is a good boat. Not a Grady White or Contender but a good deal for someone who can’t afford the really high end boats. I don’t have an extra $200,000 to throw at a boat. If you listen to some Sea Hunt owners or others many will tell you Sea Fox is crap. I don’t agree based on my experience actually being on and operating the boat. The next size up from mine can be equipped with twins.

I look at them when I’m at the boat show and I’m always impressed with how the cockpits are laid out. You can tell that the builders are fishermen. The last one I looked at had a livewell that was really impressive. I was like yes, this is how to make a boat!!!

I have a 2013 Sea Hunt and think its a POS. And let’s be honest, Sea Fox is nowhere near the “quality” of a Sea Hunt.
Sea Fox and Sea Hunt are very close in quality. I have been on both. Neither are near top of the line but both are much more affordable for the average guy. I’ve had 20 or so people on my 246 and all have been impressed. A comparable boat in a Grady White or Everglades would have cost me nearly double. So I could have and enjoy the sea fox or stay home.

I’ve been in the above mentioned boat, and I was really impressed. I’ve heard all these bad stories about them, but I can think of much I could complain about, and nothing that would stop me from buying one.

I think Sea fox boats got a lot better one they changed ownership several years ago. I’m impressed with the layouts. Can’t attest to the ride as I’ve never been on one for any length of time.
Local cluster, I am hearing the same thing, thanks for all of the input from you guys
Sea Fox 2007 and up you should be okay. Fine what you can afford, take care of it and enjoy it. Also, search around on thehulltruth.com.

Good boats but really depends on how you want to use it. You will see the down side of the construction come to light when you take it offshore in rough conditions, multiple rough rides out and back will begin to show the weaknesses of the boat. However for your everyday cruiser and jetty redfishing you have the best boat for the price and will last years! It all comes down to how you plan to use it… Been there done that and now own something that can take a beating.
If you’re at all concerned about resale and holding its value, you may want to consider that they are likely going to suffer compared to some other brands because of their reputation of old. It takes a longgg time, if ever, for most people to get past reputations like that.
