Sea Fox or Sea Hunt

I am kicking around trading in my Carolina Skiff 218 Dlv with a 150 Suzuki for either a sea fox 225 commander or sea hunt triton 225. Any one have an opinion on which would be the better buy? I mostly fish the jeties and near shore reefs etc. feel like either would definitely get me out more days than the skiff allows. Othe makes and model suggestions in the same price range would be cool too…Thanks in advance for the input

Sea Hunt is a really dry ride, very nice boats. a friend of mine had one.

Of the two, I think seafox boats are better looking when they are new, but the sea hunt tritons are better boats and will still be great boats in 10 years.

Im partial to key west boats. I had a carolina skiff and loved it. Now I’m on my forth key west. The 225 bluewater is a good boat, but you should definatly drive it before you buy one. I prefer my 2300cc.
The 225cc I had would ride bow high, and my wife couldn’t see over the bow to drive it unless the tabs were down. That thing is an awesome jumper in rough water though.

My 2300cc rides like a champ, but I would advise against trying to jump it. It is an amazing ride off shore and dominates anything inshore will throw at you.

Good luck on the boat! I would recommend driving all of them before you buy one, even though the sellers will get annoyed.

Sea Hunt. Although i have heard the new sea fox models are a great improvement over the earlier models.

Sea Hunt. As others said, Sea Fox is improving in quality, but they still have to catch up to SeaHunt.

I have a 220 Triton and love it. It is CC number six and has the best ride of any I have ever owned. The “Carolina” flair in the bow offers a very dry ride.

You should definitely schedule a ride in both if you can. I would go to a couple dealers and take them each for a test drive. I also wouldn’t rule out a Key West or even a Pioneer (I’m biased with this one).

I’d check out tidewater boats as well

I’ve been on two Sea Hunts this year (BX BR 24 and a Gamefish 25) and both impressed the hell out of me. Underrated boat IMO. From what I hear, Sea Fox has worked out a lot of their layup and layout kinks that they had with some of the older models.

Sea Hunt…

Might also want to check out the Sportsman. Same guys who built SeaPro boats started Sportsman. Really nice layout and dryride…

Sea Hunt
My 2005 Triton is in great condition after taking me thru all sorts of weather.
It’s great inshore and offshore.
Highly recommend!
