LOOKING AT A 2000 21’ CC WITH A 150 JOHNSON. ARE THESE GOOD BOATS TO FISH OFF SHORE. THANKS FOR ANY IMFORMATION
Nope
The only real way to answer that question is to ask the manufacturer to provide fiberglass layup schedule and methods. Hand laid is more expensive than chopper gun, but, when done correctly is much stronger/durable/lighter. You also generally want more layers in a hand laid hull. Manufacturers that do it well are happy to provide that info. Others, not so much.
Compare any boat you’re interested in to a few of the icons like whaler, scout, McKee, etc.
Then, there’s all the considerations of hull design, etc.
If you’re going to spend thousands of $$$ on a single purchase, I’d recommend doing that homework before you buy.

That’s good advice if you’re looking at a new boat, and I’m sure that Sea Fox would be happy to provide a tour if you request one.
That being said, I love my 2008 Sea Fox, but would not recommend a 2000. Go back and look for the Ryan Balderson quote. You’ll see the time line for when things started changing.

Itch, I must have read your mind… I was looking for the quote as you posted!
I bolded the part pertaining to the 2000-era models.
Read this quote from Ryan Balderson, VP @ SeaFox from about a year ago on thehulltruth.com:
My name is Ryan Balderson,I am from the plant where we manufacture Sea Fox in Moncks Corner. Let me first tell you the history of Sea Fox and how it has evolved over the past 13 years. Yes, the sons of Carl Renken started now “Sea Fox” in the early nineties with Legacy Boats, as the name got out they were informed that another company in the northeast was using this name so they were forced to change, then they came out with Sea Era which again it was phenetically close to another line of boats so they decided with Sea Fox. Yes, the boats were built as strickly an entry level boat at a valued price when the boats were first built on James Island, the boats did have built-in bow pulpits, used resin based putty to bond stringer and decks, plastic thru-hulls, and 24 ounce roven glass for the bulk side of the lamination schedule. All these models did meet uscg standards and were safe. Then in 2003, Sea Fox purchased a 200 thousand square foot facility and moved all operations to our moncks corner site where we slowly started changing the culture from entry level boats. Then, in 2005 three employees, including myself purchased into the company and have now evolved the line with completely new product in hull design and raw materials. If you look now, from our 206 center console to our new 286 center console (which we are debuting at Miami - we will have one in the water with Suzuki and one in our booth) these are all new hull designs - no built-in bow pulpits, all stainless thru-hull fitting, 2" penke composite transom boards, comsyse stringer systems, b-39 high strength bonding putty, 3 layers of 36oz./10oz. stitched tri-axle fiberglass handlaid, 4" pvc wire runs, trevera core, sphere core laminated into hull. All rod-racks, consoles, t-tops all thru bolted with stainless fastne
I like my 2001 Sea Fox but I also hated the JOhnson that came on it. I don’t fish a lot out of it and if you do not have a 4 blade prop and trim tabs it will not ride very good. just my advice from an owner but for the money I paid I can not complain.
From reds to marlin you got it.
