Sea Hunt 172 trim tabs

Anybody here installed trim tabs on a SH 172? I have a set of Bennetts to put on and I’m trying to figure out how to access the port side to feed the hydraulic hose to the tab. The livewell seems like it’s nearly touching the transom. Just looking to see if anybody has accessed that area before I put a paddle bit on the drill and start cutting out foam to explore.

Same goes for accessing the livewell plumbing, but that’s for later on. Just worried about the tab for now. Starboard side is no problem.

I have contacted them directly on multiple things throughout this project and the general answers I get are call Seels, call Moeller, call…somebody else. Haven’t once gotten an actual answer from them. I keep reading how helpful they are, but not sure that applies when the boat is old and used. What else can you expect on a 1999 boat though, hence my reason for asking questions here. I’m willing to bet the answer to this question when I ask Sea Hunt directly will be to call Seels.

EDIT: Actually, I take that back. They did get me one conclusive answer. They told me/confirmed that the anchor locker was designed around a custom anchor and that they don’t know of any standard anchors that would fit without modification.

ouch
sorry
we have never had to call them directly, but we have contacted MANY other builders and they have always been helpful, but it may be that we are a repair shop, and they want to steer customers to the dealer

Don’t get me wrong, not trying to put them down. I do keep in mind that mine is 16 years old and a $4k used purchase, so my expectations are not exactly set real high. They’ve been responsive, just generally hasn’t been helpful answers.
