Sea Hunt Boats

So the car was actually resting on top of the boat?

I once had a dog and Bonzo was his name-O!

Its hard to explain because there was a telephone pole, the boat and motor and this car. The telephone pole was completely cut in half and was proping the front of the car up. The back window had the prop shaft through it while the back casting deck had the front driver side tire on it. We took a tractor and fork lift and moved it so we could pull the guy out. He looked pretty ruff so we moved as fast as we could. I know the pictures don’t do it as good of justice as the story I told. It was a mess and this is the second boat to be hit by a car on the side of the road. People in Texas can’t drive.

From reds to marlin you got it.

what portion of the car was on the ground?
I am completely confused
how could the prop shaft be in the window(not even sure which window)[rear window, is that the rear door, or the one above the trunk], and the tire be on the deck

the best I can come up with is the car was vertical sort of, sitting on its rear bumper, prop shaft in the rear driver window, and the front driver tire leaning against the starboard rear casting deck.
if thats the case, kinda cool to see that, but doesnt really seem like to much impact on the hull

Shots fired! Shots fired! That is uncalled for. We’uns in Texas drive very well. Thank you. I have seen more accidents since moving to Chucktown than I saw in years in Texas. I see about 3 wrecks a day on Rivers Avenue alone. Heck I passed a lady yesterday that was driving down the road reading the dang newspaper. Sheesh!

That is pretty much the way it was but when the car hit the boat it was airborne. Now that we have had time to look at some of the damage we found that steering cable was completely ripped in half.

As far as texas driving good; this road that I work on is like rivers road except it runs in to I10 and I see at least 2 wrecks a week within 100 yds from our entrance.

I like those new Sea Hunt Skiff 21’s. . .they are probably going to give Carolina Skiff DLV’s some competition in the “modified skiff” market.

Chris We had a similiar incident happen last year with a 20 ft blazer bay and it ripped the motor off the transom. I imagine the car was traveling around 40 mph flipping across a highway similar to highway 17 in charleston and slamed into the back of this boat. I would have thought it would have ruined the boat honestly because of the impact and was very surprised. The yamaha’s prop shaft did get bent and scratched pretty good but I thought the transom on the boat would have been shot. Like I said I saw this happen last year to a blazer bay when we sold blazers and it ripped the transom apart. I was just merely complimenting the boat on being well built because I was in shock. I sent the pics to ricky so he will post them.

Am I to understand that this is the SECOND time you've experienced a car flying thru the air and landing on a boat while being trailered down the highway? Remind me to stay far away when your on the road.:smiley:
