I have narrowed down my choices between the 2 boats. I am looking for ■■■■■■■■ from owners on what they don’t like about their Sea Hunt BX 22 or their Sea Fox 22. Basically, what would they add or change about the set-up (horsepower, t-top, etc). Have they had issues and is so what are they.
I love my BX 22, just can’t find time to use it. I went with the F250 because I personally think the 150 isn’t enough, plus having fly by wire controls is very nice. I bought mine last year and have 20 hours on it. It’s for sale if you’re interested.
I have a BX 22. I was considering both very closley. However I did find a forum on the Sea Fox and saw quite a number of dis-satified owners and compliants about the Sea Fox models. I did not find it about the Sea Hunt. One other item that decided it for me was; I was on a fishing charter in Naples, Fl last summer and the guide down there had driven all the way to Columbia to buy a Sea Hunt boat (a BX 24).
Most of what I had been able to determine was good quality work by Sea Hunt. Even though this is my first boat, so I am definitely no boat expert, but I have had no issues with mine. It performs very well, and I have had no prblems arise. I know both are made in SC, but so are several others.
I am pleased enough with mine that I am seriously keeping them in mind for my offshore vessel as well.
I’ve got a Sea Hunt Escape and would only complain about the wiring… it is a wreck in my console. I’m looking to fix it this year.
I almost got a Sea Fox WA with twins on it before getting my dual console, saw TONS of bad reviews on Sea Foxes during my investigation. I walked away from it.
I have a seafox that is a few years (10) old and while it is probably middle of the road for middle class boats, I have been overall happy with it - considering what I paid. It is really lacking attention to details and such, but I bought it to fish out of and didnt want to break the bank in doing so. If I were to choose between the Hunt or Fox, and the price was comparable, I would certainly take the Hunt.
