Sea Hunt

Impressive!

And the point is?

The point is, Sea Hunt is world renowned for their stitching!!

Curious how many others have this problem and whether there was any resolution? New 2015 gamefish took possession in may and not feeling the love.

Are you are talking about the mold/mildew growing on the backside of the vinyl or the terrible stitching which allows water in behind the vinyl?

Don’t soak your seats with the hose when cleaning the boat. Wipe them down with a rag and spray bottle. Dry seats with a towel.

Get a new seat now before they discontinue the material and your stuck with a mismatching seat.

I have the same problem among others.

If I found that on a new boat, it would go back immediately.

The factory or dealer more than likely will do nothing for you… me personally, I would take the seat to a good fabric shop and at the very least ask them to put the seam in the correct direction. The overlap is in the wrong direction.

I’m not sure how Sea Hunt is, but lots of builders contract out cushions. They push for the lowest price, which sometimes leads to cutting corners.

once again I have no idea what Sea Hunt does

Tall Sail Marine

What loopervet said. I’m fairly sure that Sea Hunt as well as most other boats in that class contract the fabrication of cushion, bolsters etc. The fit and finish on a Sea Hunt could use a lot of work, but I think the hull design it top notch. Island Boy is correct; a good canvas fabricator can fix it before it becomes a problem.

Sea Hunt is replacing the cushions. They are changing to a new product which reportedly does not have the blue mold issue.Im hopeful they will be properly stitched as well.

Frustrating to say the least!

Good for Seahunt!

My 2008 cushions looks great still. I never use the forward ice box cushions but the console and front seat are fine. Minor sun damage and wear but no issues with build quality. They do tend to pick up orange butt prints in the summer… :imp:

Try a new sunscreen, because sunscreen is the primary cause of the orange stains, and second is well water with high mineral contents but this usually effects more of the boat then a localized area. Or maybe some one just has way to much carotene in there diet and sweats really hard.

Nope, just normal interaction between vinyl, gel coat, and sunscreen/tanning oil off of a nice bum. It fades out in after a week or so in the sun.

Where do you get these nice, tanned bums! I need some of these orange stains[:0]:smiley:

It’s a known Sea Hunt issue…search it on Hull Truth. Mine has a few spots but doesn’t bother me too much…maybe since I didn’t buy it new. If it were a 2015 I would probably have a different opinion. Contact Sea Hunt and your dealer…I know people are getting them replaced for free just may take a while. Carolina Cushions does the work.

Bought my boat new in 2014, had the same problem with some of the cushions. Took it in for warranty work last winter and they replaced the leaning post cushions. No cost to me!
As previously noted, this is a known problem and SeaHunt is trying to correct.

Very happy with the boat and the Charleston dealer. Talk to your boat dealer, no reason you should live with it.
