Had Ours since 2005 … only been in the shop once and that was because of bad fuel injectors (ethanol gas) … Other than that boat has been great … we used it 3 out of 4 days every week for the 1st two years we had it … never let us down … I just wish they still made them … parts are getting to be hard to find … not that I need any … LOL
it’s my Wife’s fault we HAVE to fish now!!!

Are there any real significant problems with the boats

I would buy a sea pro and wouldn’t think twice about it. I would prefer a Sea Hunt but right now i have an aluminum bass boat so anything would be an upgrade for me. It’s usually the motor that I would worry about, not the boat. Ethanal gas is bad for a boat motor no matter what make.
My opinion on them as well as 99% of the boats most use for striper fishing is…its not aluminum. .haha.
My hewes craft will do me for another 4-5yrs… Fingers crossed then its on to a Seaark 240Procat…o I day dream all the time about it. Ha

The only thing I have seen with them is the floor seems low and the scuppers let water in. This is compounded when you put a huge bait tank full of water in the back. You end up standing in water all day. Not so bad in the summer, but not good in the winter. Maybe this is a simple fix with good scuppers, but I don’t know

We’ve had both back bait tanks loaded + a full tank of gas and any water that has gotten on the deck (I have been known to dump a bucket or two while fishing to wash the blood & dirt away) has drained away very quickly … but then again I always blow out my scuppers every time I wash the boat

I have a Sea Pro bay boat. The scuppers do let some water in when the boat is heavily weighted but the fix is just plugging them with foam or plugs. If water get’s in the boat from another source, just take one plug out and drain it when you move from one spot to another. It’s not really a big deal at all but if you did not plug them it would get annoying at time. No issues with my boat at all other than it’s not 2’ longer. I have the 1906 and wish it were the 2106. Need more storage!
I have 2001 19’ bay series cc seapro. 115/4strk yammy. my boat has been super for my son pulling skis, riding the lake, great deck for shrimping. plenty of rod holders for striper fishing and really just a good all around boat. paid $17,500 back then w/bimini top/front bass seat, depth finder, hig dollar radio/cd player, boat cover, and wesco trailor. the only other boat that i would want at this time would be the tidewater. jimmy metts from seapro started tidewater and took the few bad things about the seapro and made them better. he actually put shower drains in the floor for the water that comes in. the way i fix the scuppers is to put white duct tape on the outside of the boat. works like a charm and does not look bad either. great boat for the money. the hull has held up to a lot of abuse. we do not baby our boat.

U took that the wrong way…haha. I love aluminum I fish aluminum now and its all I will ever fish out of. I am just to rough on fiberglass. Plus u can usually get by with less motor on aluminum which makes it a little cheaper in the long run.

On the scupper comments. I have a 17’ Key West that sits low like the Sea Pro. I have tried flapper scuppers, duck bill scuppers, and now ball type scuppers. They ball type work better that any other I have tried. They will drain with very little forward movement.

I’m with Murraymaker on aluminum. My Xpress HB-22 is about all I can hope for in a striper boat and is built like a tank. With the 175, the boat scoots around at 43-48 mph and sips gas compared to comparable sized glass boats. The only complaint, though I have plenty of storage, is I wish the compartments were drier. Oh well. There’s no such thing as a perfect boat:smiley:

I’ve fished with Fogman several times. Nice boat, rides great and holds a lot of big fish!!! Thanks again for the fishing. Best medicine in the world is watching a rod bend with line squalling off of the reel. Also, if you fish this weekend be aware that there will be a big 150 boat bass tournament out there Friday and Saturday.

Nah, I was just messing with you. I like my aluminum boat becasue I can take it places I wouldn’t want to take a glass boat. Plus I had to get something my Jeep could pull. I get a bigger boat means I would have to get a bigger ride and I’m not ready to give up my Jeep! I’m still putting a Sea Hunt BX22 on my wish list though.
I’ve had my Sea Pro 2100C for 13 years and been very pleased with it…fishin 2ft of water to 50 miles offshore…never had an issue with water standing in it…It is severely used and abused for sure…

And I think THAT’S the issue … those of us with 2100’s don’t have a “water in the deck” issue like those with smaller versions do … The ONLY time I ever get water on my deck is when I PUT the water on my deck …

I have a '01 1900 Sea Pro. This thing has been used hard and held up well. I have small stress crackes in the gel coat in a few places but no structural problems. I use large corks to stop the scupper leaks when anchored. Overall, I think it’s a solid boat. TE

big t; where did you find corks large enough? i have looked all over for some. thanks
