Sea Pro fish box question

I have a 99 210 CC Sea Pro and the front storage/fish box has two hatches but it is basically one compartment.

I normally keep misc items stored in there but would like to make one side a some what functional fish box(overboard drains are on boath sides).

I am thinking I could cut out a piece of starboard and use stainless angle braces and wedge it tight between the piece where the two hatches close in the middle. Then seal it good with silicone or 4200 caulk to keep the water in one side and keep the other side some what dry.

I am also thinking of using some hd styrofoam or something to the underside of that hatch door for added insulation

Does this sound practical

Easy solution is buy fish bag and put on one side . It will hold ice and fish much longer .
