Sea Pro Losing Fuel Prime???

For whatever the reason my Sea Pro is losing fuel Prime you can shut the motor off and it is a pain in the butt to use the primer bulb to build up fuel pressure sometimes I have to disconnect one of the inline fuel filters in order for it to reprime any thoughts hoping it might be something simple as an anti siphon valve that is causing this hiccup. Also I installed a new mercury primer bulb, but still having the same problem.

SplitTail - I had same issue with my Sea Pro. I changed the fuel fitting and fuel line and primer bulb. Still had same issue. Then i checked my fuel / water separater and had a small rust hole in the filter. Replaced it and no problem since. Hope it works out.

My buddy had the same issue with his Sea Pro and it was also the fuel/water se. Had to cut the lines and bypass the filter to get in!

This is a good topic for folks to think about.

I had a pick-up tube separate inside the tank I just changed over to. Luckily the GW I had allowed access to the tank and I simply spliced an additional foot of fuel line to the existing one with a bic pen to reach the tank’s second suction fitting (ya, good thing that was there!)

Quality bulbs, spare fuel line, a few brass barbed fittings and hose clamps are cheap insurance.
