Just saw that on the news tonight! Same people?

Saw the sign up here in Whitmire the other week. Glad they are coming back in SC.

Wonder if they bought some of the molds they sold to Brunswick?! I thought when you sold a company, you sold the Trade Mark along with it? Didn’t Brunswick sell Sea Pros for a few years after they bought the company? These new guys most have bought the name back:question:

Brunswick shut it down in 2008 when economy tanked soon after they bought it - they bought several brands around the same time when economy was great and boats were selling. I have a 2008 SV1900 that I bought used and was told that only about 35 were produced. Never really confirmed that (or tried) but do know it’s hard to find anything (even pictures) of a 2008 on internet. 2008 has changes that Brunswick made. One of the original Sea Pro founders that sold is behind Tidewater as noted in the Columbia Biz Journal article and states he is involved in the new Sea Pro, which is odd if he’s also still with Tidewater. I heard someone say that Tidewater had the Sea Pro molds and basically using the same hull (or it’s just the same designer making similar, I think the Tidewater has more Carolina flare). Who knows what kind of terms were in the sale agreement with Brunswick, maybe they had take-back rights to the name/trademark if Brunswick didn’t use it for some period of time. Or they may have just bought it back from Brunswick if they felt it had more value than a new brand and Brunswick didn’t want it (or preferred the money). Suspect more will be learned as they roll out, start marketing and signing up dealers, test reports are published, etc.

this answers the questions.

Pioneer 197sf

Seems like Bulls Bay, the Pioneer spin off makes just about the same boats, I always liked the 17’ with a 7’ beam Sea Pro made, now Bulls Bay makes it.

I recently purchased a new 2200 Bulls Bay and just took it by the plant yesterday to have tabs installed.

It is not the same mold as the Sea Pro’s, but close.

I have a Bulls Bay 151, it’s not really anything like the current line, but it’s a solid little boat.

How expensive are the tabs, seems as though they are needed on the BB 2200, looking at the 2200 and just wondering how much they are installed? Thanks

MP, I really can’t say a price for this in particular.

Reason is that when I bought the boat new, i also purchased electronics, trolling motor, charger and more from them and paid for them to install. They gave me a deal on the tabs due to all of those reasons.

It’s all negotiable.

You looking to buy one new?

I am surprised they are not making the 186 or 196 that Brunswick made 06-08. Brunswick kept the SV series pretty much the same, but took the CC and made some big upgrades. 20deg deadrise, 2k+ dry weight, hand laid… its one of the best riding sub 20’ers around.
