I have always had a Sea Tow Membership but being new to the area and being time for a renewal I wanted to get some opinions about the area preferences. I dock in Georgetown and fish inshore and very nearshore between McClellandvile and Myrtle Beach… I also boat on the ICW/Waccamaw up to North Myrtle Beach occasionally.
Charleston area is lucky to have both companies here…both are locally operated by competent owners who appreciate this area and their customers…talk to Anthony or Steve…you can’t go wrong with either…

It’s a good investment and you are smart to have it, heard a story from someone that needed oil in the Wando river yesterday and one of the companies was 3hrs away and wanted $1000 to bring them oil.
After being released, a lot of fish die, but a lot of them live also.
I know someone who purchased a Seatow contract about $125 before going to the Bahamas. Well he got over there and his engine became disabled. Seatow came all the way from Florida and pulled him back to Florida all for the $125 annual fee.

Both are great. Good insurance.
I know nothing about Seatow but, I can tell you that my experiences with Towboat have been nothing but awesome. Unfortunately, I have had to avail myself of the Charleston Seatow twice and they were Johnny on the spot. I have also used them in the Keys and the service was every bit as good. I initially chose Towboat because I boat on our coast and in Florida and they had more ports in Florida. Regardless of who you go with, get a membership. It is money well spent.
