anyone else having trouble finding the seabass? caught plenty of vermillions the sea bass I caught were small and only a few. was fishing live bottom 100ft. and comanche area? btw lots of big sand bar sharks on the comanche caught 3 and had a few breakoffs.
my boat is a little smaller than yours but on a nice day i would like to go to the comanchee; is there a lot of current out there, what kind of weight you use? you use squid or cigar minnows? i get to the chs 60 and use only 2-4ozs. Lots of decent size bsb at the 60’.

Put a white or chartreuse 6ox Spro jig on and tip it with a strip of cut bait on 4’ of Floro. Drop it to the bottom and bounce it a little, weeds out the little fish.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

use anywhere between 6-8 oz sinkers with squid or fresh cut bait. I’ve caught them in the past just wasn’t sure if they’re out deeper due to warmer water or what? looking forward to some cooler temps. until then catch um up…Mike
We caught ten keepers today, along with plenty of shorts. Limit of nice vermillion,6 porgies, 4 large white grunts, 5 foot barracuda, 7-8 foot sandbar, and about 10 cutoffs. Great sea conditions.
I struggle myself with them this time of year. Like what Sells said. They will seemingly be everywhere middle to end of October.
Forgive MY ignorance here, as fishing my boat is all new to me. How deep do you usually find them in cooler months?

I can go yr round to my spot in 38 ft and catch 15-17 inchers all day long…but you have to be right in top of them or you will catch nothing but shorts…
You just gotta find the right spot…and then work it…it took me about 5 different trips to this spot to get it dialed iin.

Wow, that’s a big SAndbar. Rare to see one approach 8 ft…

A buddy ID’d it as a Sandbar. I was guessing 7’. Two other guys on the boat said 8. If I can ever figure out how to post photos I’ll put them up.
