I’m on vacation here at Seabrook this week and i have my boat. I’m just looking for some info about fishing that island or them sandbars off the beach. I went out there Monday and caught some sharks but i would like to catch something else. Whats the best area to fish…shallow sandbars or the deep side? Thanks for any help
Ocean side this time of year is mostly going to be sharks and rays. On calm days you can ride down the beach in front of Botany Bay Island and find spanish mackerel. You can throw small Clark spoons or Gotcha plugs at them if you find the school, or troll if you are set up for that. The tarpon are here now and some folks fish for those out there, especially around the Deveaux Bank. If you go up the river and into the creeks, reds, trout and flounder can be caught around docks, rocks and oyster rakes. Do a search on this site for North Edisto and Bohicket Creek and you’ll find a lot of info. You can also search Tarpon and Spanish Mackerel on here and find a bunch of info on those as well. My family and I spent many happy vacation weeks on Seabrook. Have a great week !
