Seadek?

anyone ever used the Seadek products and installed it yourself?

how hard was it to cut, do you really need a router table to make the edges look neat?

does it get hot to the touch in the sun?

I am looking to cover tops of the benchs on a jon boat with it, buying the raw sheets and cutting myself.

Thanks.

I would get Hydroturf. You can order the B grade seconds from their website. Use contact cement to put it down. I did the entire flooring and deck surfaces on my 16 ft. jon boat and I’m really pleased. It does not get hot during summer. Its the same stuff they put on the jet ski runners.

Good looking job! Gona look at that stuff for my boat.

Thanks! That is what I am going for, but just on the benches. Forgot how hot they get in the summer sun. How long have you had it?

About a year.

I have been looking into it. I like the fact that it is half the price of seadek for more material…

I used some hydroturf for coaming pads, turned out great. I have an arched transom, once you pull the paper off, I was able to follow a pretty steep contour with no problem. I opted to get the 3m adhesive on my sheet, cheapeast, lowest profile, nicest looking, alternative to custom mabe pads IMO.
