Call DNR? YES

Call DNR? NO, go over to the “kid” and explain what’s legal and what’s not. Education to our youth goes a long way. If that same “kid” has a cooler full like the picture above, then yes, call DNR. The fine for an undersized reddrum possession is max of $500. No prison like you are alluding to.

You know they’re not going to put a kid in prison for a fish violation, max would be a fine. If nobody says or does anything, he’ll just continue to repeat his mistake.
Thanks for being civil 23 sailfish… According to DNR those little cockroaches are 70% of the red diet inshore…As far as treemydog goes,I do not know the man and he does not need defending! Just saying those threating to have his boat, truck and money taken and maybe put in prison should lighten up and be more respectful.
1.DNR does not foot the bill …WE DO!(taxpayers).
2. The lower limits were put in place under the pretense they would be increased with population increase(rebound). We both agree there is a healthy population out there. I guess I need to just come out and say it “Admitting success and increasing the limit would decrease their budget and thus reduce their piece of the tax pie”.Surely that could not have an affect on their efforts/reports. BIG GOVERNMENT BEGETS BIGGER GOVERNMENT. They take a little and a little bit by bit and seldom give back.It is not any individual well meaning government employee’s fault…IT IS SIMPLY THE NATURE OF THE BEAST… Just look at one little item"they blew all our social security tax money" to grow this monstrous beast(little by little).
Blah Blah blah I am sick of this,Guess i will just go back and stick my head in the sand like an ostrich does to avoid being eaten.

Some of you guys seem to enjoy downing others in an attempt to raise or elevate your self perceived status of all knowing elitists.People like tree-my-dog are the very ones willing to put their lives on the line in defense of freedom.
1. Stop catch/release targeting of bull reds.(by discouraging it and admitting how importand breeders are in comp

I would hope not. They don’t put killers, thieves and drug dealers in prison, so hopefully a kid violating a catch limit would receive a slap on the wrist at the most. Hopefully…

Go read Title 50 od sc state laws…hell game wardens would have trouble interpreting these laws…How could anyone reasonably expect a weekend recreational fisherman to know them???

Like Optiker, if I see an obvious violation, I am calling DNR. Call me a yellow-belly if you wish but, I do not condone breaking the law.

Toppy you are reaching on that statement. Rules and regs are a mouse click away to anyone.
I’ve known a lot of weekend recreational fishermen, I’m one. I do believe we all pretty much have an idea what we are targeting. You catch a fish that you have no clue what it is, let it loose. Better yet print off the fish I.D. chart that DNR provides or swing by Fort Johnson and pick up a free chart.
Would you expect the same for weekend Drivers, just to give a quick example?
Here’s another Idea, take a picture and post it on CF, I’ll guarantee someone will tell you what it is, what size is legal, and how many you can or can not keep.
Life is full of responsibilities and laws, weather we like it or not.

Then quit defending him and let him speak for himself.
No one threatened to steal his stuff, they merely told him what could happen if he was caught breaking the law. Those people are being respectful… of the law… like normal law abiding citizens.
Yet again, you only see things how you want to see them and not for what they truly are.
The way I see it at this point you’re either:
Just looking for attention no matter how ignorant/uneducated you sound.
The best alias ever.
A person with a below average IQ. Maybe a fourth grade level.
And to be honest with you, I’m really not sure which one it is…I kinda hope you’re an alias… Because the other two choices are very sad.

I think everyone that is keeping this going fits all three categories 23sailfish is referring to. “EVERYONE”
The way I see it:
Several are on here every single day. Day in and day out. Keep saying the same thing over and over and over and over.
Scared to death somebody will fish or gig in “YOUR” spot.

No No No Most of you guys were helping him… A few did threaten him…Those few are entitled(by law) to do so if they feel it necessary…It got out of hand…But why openly brag about reporting someone???Then get offended when counterattacked???
I guess my oyster roast invite is off, as a fourth grade IQ would not be worth greeting and could never carry on a conversation with an “elitist”…Yeah I dropped out of high school Took the GED a week later…got drafted(Honorable Discharge after serving my two years),went to college(on your tax dollars)with 3.57 overall GPA.Worked for 32 years in Nuclear Power(15 of those years in Environmental Monitoring).
Never ever felt the need to look down on anyone…Never lost my common sense(which can not be obtained from education).
I was so looking forward to meeting you and exchanging “meaningful” views…My loss.

BOB 241 You are mostly correct and spot on.
1. I am retired and do not want a job.
2. This country has more folks encarcerated per capita and total prisoners than any country!! Also more on welfare and more government employees!!
3.Not looking for any,,,I prefer to "stick" to a good fishing hole.
4.We certainly do have OPINIONS!
Bob 241 is spot on with his common sense remarks…

The way I see it:
- Nobody has a job
- Everybody is incarcerated or wearing an ankle braclet
- Can’t get any
- Don’t have a life

If I see you breaking a law, I will report you. Does that mean I attacked or threatened you?
I’ve called operation game thief a few times when I personally saw things that deemed it necessary. If you have a probably with citizens helping law enforcement uphold the law, well that’s too bad.

no sir, it is still there…please come and meet some of these knuckleheads…
The Morris Island Lighthouse www.savethelight.org
Only you can answer that question. The other day i had to stop on the side of the road to tt…I had a choice, public urination or soak my pants and seat…And yes the possibility that someone would report me was considered in my choice to tt in public.Report me please. While you are at it report those road hogs on interstate that poke along in the left lane blocking traffic( which results in deaths).
A serious question for you sir,Do American Citizens still have the right to face their accusors in a court of law??

What’s your point? Ignorance of the law is never an excuse. I, again am lost with your Toppy-logic.

This guy(texas) had to pay a 2500 dollar fine but could still fish…He was just ignorant of the law as his brother posted the photos on facebook.can you imagine how many millions of puppy drums this destroyed??
Ignorance of the law is not a reason to break it. I grew up in Northern Missuri hunting and we constantly found dead deer with only the heads gone on our farm. You can try to rationalize poaching/law breaking anyway you want, however it’s still illegal and I can’t stand it.
