Seared tuna

Tuna is on sale at the teeter so I picked up a little. Put it with fingerlings and zucchini. Good stuff

Down here is where a signature goes but they can confuse and anger some people so I don’t have one.

Looks great, Capt! I’ve never seen taters done like that.

That’s the way to handle some tuna. Perfect.

I can NEVER get tuna to turn out like that…I always way overcook it. What’s the secret ?

recently learned this from a Marley spoon meal. You boil them for a few minutes to get them soft, let them cool down some and then take a glass or bowl of some sort and mash them flat. Then you roast them in the oven. They come out like a crispy potato pancake. Really good.

no more than a minute on each side, do a flat sode, then an edge, then the other flat , then the other edges. High heat helps, I also preheat the skillet in the oven .

Jeezus, did these things in college, they're not complete until you add bacon and cheese, 5 minutes before removing.

Is that black fin tuna?

Since there is no truth in seafood advertising, who knows. I tell myself it was yellowfin.

Looks good to me. I’d eat it.

Tried your smashed tater recipe with a London Broil cooked on the grill, some stewed yellow squash with onions and tomatoes, a cucumber onion and tomato salad. With a fine red wine. No time for pics, too busy chewing until now. Thanks for the tip!
