Seasickness medicine?

Old military study showed best prevention is “scop-dex”. 0.6 mg Scopolamine with 10 mg of dextroamphetamine to smooth out the scope ride.

I think it is kind of hard to come by legally. I guess you could get a transderm scop and steal some of your kids Adderal.

If your not afraid of sharks you can get in the water for awhile.

Truthfully Ive had good results with Bonine and if you ask the pharmacist for the generic its about a 100 pills for 4 bucks.

Come on guys, the OP is just a kid.

Yakman steer clear of the pot and speed and stick to Bonine and a positive attitude.

+1, man.

catching is a great way to stay clear-headed!

my dad gets it bad. as a kid i watched him spend all day praying to a 5gal bucket while i fished- sure looked miserable, but he stuck it out because he wanted me to enjoy myself. i learned that scopalamine (ear patch had to be put on the night before for best results), bonine, ginger, and attitude were what worked best for him.

conversely, i can also vouch that anchoring in 4x4’s in a 17’ boat with a wad of skoal in the cheek is NOT the way to go- only time it’s ever gotten me. i like to eat something when i’m feeling that twinge… but it’s all personal preference out there!

my dad always takes dramamine when he goes and so far so good!

we only go a few times a year anymore but we had years of boating when i was younger so i think that helps. ive honestly never had an issue. went out to the kiawah reefs one day in some bumpy stuff and was fine.

it sounds wierd but i always make sure to eat plenty of food and hydrate. i actually get more hungry when im on a boat. have no idea why but im usually in pretty good shape afterwards

buddy of mine had some “bananana water” thing they sell at piggly wiggly (?) that has a ton of potassium and stuff in it. it will treat you right

The ONLY cure for seasickness is a helicopter and a hammock under a big live oak tree. I have seen friends so sick that they would have bought a chopper if they could have gotten back to land.

The drink mentioned by northchucky is BaNa. Great for hangovers (not necessary for you Yakman!) But, in all honesty, I would take whatever you feel comfortable with, and hope for the best. I’ve never been seasick before however… Sorry bud!

Another +1 for Bonine (for over the counter meds). Tried ginger and all the other OTCs. Bonine night before and morning of, with plenty of lead time. Works great for me.
