I have a situation I can’t seem to find a solution to. I have sold my boat. I have been lucky enough to have a neighbor allow me the use of his 21ft center console and I also have access to a larger offshore boat that I run a few times per year. I have always had Sea Tow when I owned and operated my own boat. Called to get a new membership now that I have access to a couple boats and neither company seemed to be able to find a way to offer me towing coverage. Both boat owners already have coverage through towboat us for themselves, but it wouldn’t cover me using the boat without them present per my understanding…so how can I get covered to use these boats? Not so worried about the little one inshore, but I don’t like the though of running 60+ miles offshore without knowing someone would come tow us home without me having to take out a second mortgage!
I was under the impression the it covers you. Not a specific vessel. Unlimited salt water towing says, “A BoatUS Unlimited Saltwater Towing Membership provides boat towing services for all Fresh and Saltwater waterways, nationwide, for any boat you own, borrow or rent.” Please let me know where you heard differently. I’d like to research this further to verify/dismiss what I thought I knew about this.

I think mine covers me for 100 miles out of the home port.
