Yes sir they are correct century (CIA) guns have major issues. The brand I mentioned Norico is a pre ban gun imported from China going to be the next best thing to a Russian made AK. Almost all US made AK’s are built off of parts kits some are good and some have issues. I’ve seen where a builder used a different part from each kit to build a gun. Every part in the gun had a different serial number. That wouldn’t bother me if it functions properly however I found one of my Norinco’s at the gun show in Ladson for $600 its a factory gun with all numbers matching. If I was going to spend the money on a AK I would like a factory built gun not a parts kit reassembled by someone else. Just my .02.

Inter Ordnance has been around since 2008 I think and as of the last few years I’ve heard there has been quite a lot of QC issues with them. If you can find a Norinco 56s AK47 that would be the way to go in my opinion. Check out http://www.sturmgewehr.com/webBBS/semi4sale.cgi they show up on here regularly.

Word of advice, the internet store and the actual store are two separate businesses. It can be a pain or you can use that to your advantage.

Good thinking, I called and asked about a particular gun that was online. The guy there said they would honor the internet price, but made it seem like its not always the case.

Take a look Ricky. Good deal here.
Since you stated 5.56 / .223 specifically, and I assume you want semi-auto, then I would just state that there are lots of 5.56mm AK variants.
I have a Saiga like the one above (normal field stock, not a pistol grip) in 5.45mm and it’s good enough. It’s not a finely crafted work of art, but it’s very functional and good for 100 yard shooting for sure.
Or you could go really fancy and get an IMI Tavor (bullpup 5.56mm).
“You have the right to the pursuit of happiness. You do not have a guarantee that you shall have it.”
Go with a 5.56 chamber because you can shoot .223 out of it. You can’t do the other way around. The pressure max will hurt the .223 model. Same as .357 and .38
Umm, you gonna eat that?
