Does anyone know how to free up hydraulic trailer brakes that have seized up? This happens every year and I usually get Hanckel to come out and fix them but I can’t seem to find anyone to come out to work on it.

I gave up on mine a while ago but my truck has more than enough brake for my rig. I installed a stainless disc brake kit on a friend’s trailer and he has not had a problem since. I think it was around 1k for 1 axle.
Depending on where you are at, I could help you out. I live on Edisto but drive to N. Chs every weekday.
yes, remove the bolts (2 or 3) that hold the brakes to the bracket and using a mini sledge knock it off the disc and then throw them in the trash and don’t reinstall. Change the coupler too. Best decision I made for my 22’ pathfinder trailer. Haha
Thanks Matt.I am in West Ashley, but I can’t have you come out here for this little issue. Any tips on what to do?

Take the wheels off to where you can get to the drums. Get a hammer and smack the drums a few times to break the shoes loose. You can then run it without brakes or take the drums off and see if the springs and hardware are rusted bad. (probably are) You can get after everything with a wire wheel or replace it.(suggest replace)
