My question is does anyone know somewhere that will sell my boat and take a percentage of the sale? I’ve never sold a boat outside of family members and don’t want to screw myself. Thanks.

I can tell you this. Avoid Rogue Motion. Try Butler Marine on Hwy 17 in W. Ashley. Good people.
Barrier Island Marine in Charleston sold mine and I was impressed with how much they got for it. Very good experience over all.

If it’s that 1720 sportsman that thing will sell itself. There’s no sense in paying anyone with a boat that easy to sell. You’d just be giving your money away. Post it on Craigslist with a few pics and it’ll be a done deal if it’s nice.

What size is the boat and what price range?
If the boat is under $35k you will typically do much better if you sell the boat yourself and should only use a broker if your time is more valuable than the few extra bucks you’ll save.

You may want to talk with Charleston Boat Emporium on Hwy 41. I have not used them to sell a boat though personally know someone that has. They were very pleased, and the boat sold.
as a dealer, we sell used boat regularly. we charge 10% of the sale price.
we advertise the boat, and take care of weeding out the non-buyers, and it prevents craigslist trolls from wasting your time by not showing up, or worse, actually showing up at your house.
plus we handle all the paper work.

Put it on The “Swap Shop” here as well with pictures. I had a guy from Nebraska saw a gun I had advertised on the Swap Shop, because when he Googled that gun, the Charlestonfishing swap shop forum came up. Also, I have sold a couple of boats on “The Hull Truth”. Nice boat, good luck with the sale.
