Selling gigged flounder

I know that it used to be illegal to sell a gigged flounder in SC. Has that law ben changed? I saw some for sale recently that had been gigged. Just asking.

I think you should have called operation game thief. I keep them in my contacts and ive called them before

14’ Skiff-“Redfish Reaper”

Illegal to sell bang-stick kills (or possess them).

But, after seeing Sells flounder gigging post, I think commercial fishermen can probably sell gigged flounder. Paul, what say you?

I believe it’s legal. I’ve seen gigged flounder in probably ten different seafood places in SC…

If you have a commercial to sell permit from scdnr, any legal method of harvesting fish should be OK.

They are legal to sell if you have your permits. There is a “gig” endorsement on your commercial lic. It costs $10 extra to get.
