September Meet and Fish

Want to get together this month? I was talking to J.P. about possibly combining a fishing trip and some sort of cookout…what do you guys think?

I have to work this Saturday, but I am free for the next weekend. I also have a small gas grill if we need it.

We could look at next weekend to give some planning time…

I would like to fish Sewee bay. Have wanted to check it out for awhile. looks like a nice spot…

I work next weekend or I would go.

I have a small smoker/grill/BBQ that I could bring to whatever location. I think my husband has a strong man competition (he has been training for it every single day for the past few months) next Sunday, but I need to double check to make sure it isn’t next Saturday. As long as it is Sunday then I am free any Saturday of this month and you guys can count me in as going.

Next weekend works for me. I’m up for fishing anywhere local and the cookout is a great idea. Would anyone be interested in doing a float for a Meet & Fish in the future? It would definitely require commitment and some logistical planning. Anyone have any ideas about where to launch and where to take out?

I would be interested in a float for a future Meet and Fish - maybe when the weather cools down a little…The Edisto River comes to mind. But we’d have to research the launch and landing spots…

I’d love to hit the Edisto…plenty to enjoy.

Turns out my husband’s strong man competition is next Saturday. I will do my best to join in on the next one if next Saturday is the date set for this month’s meet and fish.

If you could provide a grill, that would be great…

How about locations? Buck Hall comes to mind, as far as a place that we could launch as well as picnic areas on-site. I imagine we can do this almost anywhere as long as we keep it small and clean. I can make a few calls tomorrow to verify…

Talldoug - Sewee is best accessed via Garris, right? That might be a possibility, just got to make sure we’d be legal to do a cookout there.

Let’s discuss locations. Low tide looks to be around 9:30 in the morning on the 14th - we could fish in the morning and be back to the launch around lunchtime.

I have a big cooler and can take care of the burgers and dogs.

garris is the launch for sewee…If we left garris at say 830 and headed south down the icw and entered sewee at the south end then we could fish our way north as the water rose. looks like tons of oyster beds and lots of deep little channels that snake all around them looks like a very fun place for a paddle! on the satellite photos of the launch it looks like there is nice grass area that could work quiet well for the cook out. DNR permitting of course. TD

I scouted Buck Hall today in McClellanville. It is nice and there are grills and picnic tables already setup. Three boat lanes and floating docks. There is a $5.00 fee to park but nice. Garris landing is also nice and free. Only one boat lane though. Anywhere is fine with me.

Garris would be great but they won’t allow any grills.
