Serious Blue Marlin fishing

Say you have all the meat you want early. Anyone steam offshore and change up the spread for a big Blue…If so what are you doing…?? Lures…big hoos…Teasers and pitch baits. .?? Let’s discuss.

White braid

Not sure that’s a tried and true technique.

If your in the meat why leave thats what he its try lures or bridal a small dolphin. Dont leave his bait all the hookups you are reading about what era they doing?

Ok I must have missed the thread. Someone catch me up on the white braid.

Switch to really big baits, splashy teasers, and slow to 5kts. Stay with the bait that marlin eat - mahi!

Natureboy are you the same guy that used to post an the old forum site, I forget the name, about 15 years ago. Would make all the references to Mr Wrestling #2 and stuff like that? I loved those reports. Seems like the moderator was a guy named Pierce or something.

=Those were good! Natureboy and Monty both had some really good and enthusiastic posts.

Shoot 40"er edited his posts. He dropped some hi level Intel on how Pelagics can’t see white braid.

I’ve changed over all my reels and I’ve wrapped my flask it it. It really works, my wife can’t see my bourbon any more

Beautiful. Thanks.

We jumped one Saturday. Didn’t get a good set so he wasn’t on long. Hit a horse on a big Islander.

Get 'em smok’n !!!
Cone head Jets on the longs, cupped chuggers on the shorts and slants on the flats. All with large ballyhoo. Use dark colors on the flats so they contrast in the bubble wash.
As for teasers, you cant beat bowling pin chain on one side and mud flap tunas on the other. Don’t forget the squid chains off the teaser reels with a chugger in the back with a very large ballyhoo.
For the one that just won’t come off the squid chain…
Have a select or horse on a pitch rod on stand by for that one that just won’t crash! Flip it down the middle and make the turn that puts the bait in his face after pulling the teaser out of his way.
Been working for me for 30 years, (mudflap Tuna’s is new to the spread but awesome teaser!!!)

Catch’em up!!!

Now we’re getting somewhere. Also poor people call them bumpers

My best teaser was about 24 PBR cans wired together on one side and a string of 3 mop heads on the other side. We dipped the mop heads in menhaden oil.

Dang what happened to sea witch when he bites he bites more probably caught by accident than trying.
