If you can get out there and it dosrn’t look good for a while. Go “Old School”, drag WFB and study the best SST Reports you can get your hands on!

I remember yft’s looking like this. we call them allison’s or use to anyway.

as im sure you know, they are very closely related. other than the big eye having a slightly larger eye than the yellowfin, some say the pectoral fins fold forward differently. i believe the scientific approach would be to compare the livers. the big eye has lines on its liver and the yellowfin’s liver is smooth.
notice the lateral lines on the fish. does the big eye also have those same lines?
