Setting up a yak

So Iv’e had the cash for a while but need to wait for my dad to get a yak of his own before I buy mine since I cant go alone. I was wondering what should I bring on a yak when I go out. Of course there is the rods and like to bring the bare minimum but also want to have extra gear incase something comes up. I’m more of a bait type of guy so I really only need hooks and line for rigs. Do you guys carry a cast net with you or catch bait at the docks and put it back in the car? I will probably bring a tackle tray, flow troll, cast net… What else? I really dont know what to bring and I would appreciate any help and how to setup my yak. Advice please? I’ll be fishing for reds, sheeps, trout, and flounder.

I’m so salt life I sued google earth for giving away all of my fishing spot’s.

Lifevest first. Then this time of year i carry a full change of clothes. You are pretty exposed on a kayak so you prepare to take a dunk. I haven’t fallen out of mine but I always keep dry clothes stuffed in the hull just in case. I also carry one of those cheap can air horns in case a boat doesn’t see me. Other than that your gear will be dictated b y what fish you are targeting.
