There’s so many gill nets in Santee near Jamestown,it’s a wonder any shad are making it to arrowhead.
They leave them out 24 hours a day
It’s a hazard to navigation
I wish they wouldn’t lower the river level this time of year

Shad are biting good at arrowhead
Caught some small roes
Guess all the big ones got in the nets
I’m glad they started pulling water again and raised the river level.

I remember my pap taking me with him down to the tugs at the army depot down at the end of Remount Road.
We would eat lunch on the tug ,then go fishing at the big pond.
Them boys ate good,I thought.
