I had an opportunity to go Shad fishing for the first time on Friday. What a great day fishing! We stopped counting after the 40’th Shad was caught. Almost all bucks, but ended up with 14 Roe Shad at the end of the day. Conservatively I’d guess 60 fish at least were caught.
I have yet to actually taste the Roe from one of these so I have no idea if I will enjoy Shad as a “Consumable” however they are a fun fish to catch on ultra light tackle!
