Shad Tail Race

Any reports yet, they have been catching roes in the Santee river with nets?

Or
They have been catching roes in the Santee river with nets.

I read up a bunch on this lately and water temp dictates them coming in and then current flow. I feel like with all the rain we’ve had the Santees might be better this year just from less controled current flow. But then again the power plant at the dam has probably been pumping a little extra this year. Based off readings they show up at arrow head first. The temps are rising. I read today lake moultrie is 57 and the harbor is 51 so the cooper should be like 53. Optimal temps for the shad run are 59 based off historical data. There should be some bucks moving in soon. I plan to do a double trip to test out arrow head and the tailrace soon. Hopefully I don’t get double skunked on shad. My fall back plan is to try the crappie hole.

That makes sense. As soon as I get a day off with decent weather I’m headed that way too.

Hmmm…and it’s not even February,
