Are the shad biting right now?
nothing fast and furious at all but theres a couple around. weather man says 34 degrees sat morning but i still plan on paddling up to the dam anyways.
Caught 15 of them from 8am-10am on Monday . Then threw on the Sabiki rig and slaughtered the herring. Friend of mine went in another boat and the 2 of them limited out in 3 hours. They are there !

Herring will bite pretty much the whole day. Just anchor in the middle, put a sabiki on two rods, and hold two in your hands. When reeling one up, you stand a chance of loading up the other one lol.
I was told that there are currently a lot of folks leaving the tailrace with limits.
I will be up there on a catfishing trip the weekend of March 16. Is there somewhere I can buy some herring? Unfortunatley I will not have time to catch any.

Has anyone seen any catfish being caught at the line in tailrace while you were shad fishing?
You can’t catch fish on a dry line
Was there today. Heard of 1 cat being caught. I doubt that they are active yet, water is still really cold. I’m sure they are there though.

ill let you know when i get back today im gonna give it a crack myself if i can pull myself away from 49534583745 shad. 1 thing for sure a 20-30lb blue will be VERY interesting in a yak
