I was up that way picking up a boat motor, the ramp looked fairly full. I couldn’t gather the cahones to brave the wind this morning. There’s mid 70’s in the forecast this week ill wait it out. . .
Sunday afternoon, My daughter caught 1 near the bank. Saw several caught by other boats, a kid in another boat caught a 20lb striper on the green grubs while fishing for shad.
I have been merking the shad. a couple small Herring taps here and there and then did catch two herring on monday. usually i am by myself and look pretty out of place, but if you stay put and be consistent with your depth the fish are always there.
fished 11AM to 3PM and the shad, mostly bucks, were good no matter where you were, both sides and it didn’t matter how far away you were from the coveted front spots. I was hoping for some herring so before I left I tried the middle with sabiki rigs and all I got was small shad. I also saw some poor guy get run into and almost sunk. He lost one of his rods and his tackle box was full of water. Close call but at least he didn’t have to swim.
