Shakedown trip on new boat - dive pics

I am fortunate enough be on my 2nd upgrade for the season and took my new boat out for a quick dive trip to the Charleston 60 with Capt. Greg (of Miss Emily) and Tommy S. aka TooBusy. Seas were great and we ran out between 35 and 40 kts. Could have gone faster but there was really no need since we are at the 60 before we knew it. Most of Charleston was there with us and we couldn’t get on any structure to dive until the crowd thinned out. When we were geared up and about to roll over the side onto the 120 barge, a medium large tiger shark started circling the boat so we gave it 15 min before rolling in. It looked like the anchor missed the barge by a wider margin than the 15’ of visibility would let us find it in so we headed up to try on the 240 barge and to get away from that shark.
I dropped the anchor on the 240’ barge’s deck and managed to wrap a chain up real good in the process. You really have to be careful anchoring on these things because that would have been a lost anchor if we weren’t diving. We freed the anchor on our way back up. There was really nothing worth fishing for since anywhere that we looked. In order of how plentiful: Barracuda, spadefish, trash (grunts, ringtails etc.), spanish, amberjack, little tuny, two flounder, one tiger shark.

Good news for divers: The storms and rain didn’t seem to have affected the visibility at all so get on out there while the seas are this great!

What boat did you buy this time?
Nice job on the flounder.

SeaHunt 26 Gamefish with Yamaha 150s. Very nice at the pump.

At least ya got dinner haha

Bragging may not bring happiness,
but no man having caught a large fish,
goes home through the alley.

the 120 barge was covered in small fish. I was bringing up something every few seconds. I had 2 decent fish on during the day; first one ran off some line before biting through 60 pound mono, second got eaten by a cuda just below the boat.

The new boat is a nice ride that’s gas pump friendly.
