Shark eye bow lights

Hey guys, my boat has the side mount shark eye bow lights. The problem is that the internal housing that holds the light bulb has some time of issue, when you touch the twin wires that go into the back of the housing the light will dim/flicker or just go out, can you get replacement internal housings if so where?, any suggestions I would hate to buy a whole new set? Thanks

not sure about getting parts, gonna probably have to replace

I’m now at www.teamcharlestonmarine.com

Kinda figured which is fine but I should be able to match up so the current holes are the same, I hope, i guess you just measure mount plate match up and hope the holes are the same? Thanks

From reds to marlin you got it.

Mountain Guy-
I’ve got the Flats and Bay 1660. You don’t need to replace the whole light assembly, just the bayonet socket with the wires. Chris V may have them at his shop, or you can go to West Marine. The issue is the back of those lights are exposed in the anchor locker (one of the only things I don’t like about this boat)and the connections become corroded. You’ll need to cut the old wires off and splice the new one in. I used heatshrink to keep the salt at bay.

No, they don’t look like those. You can go to their website @ www.famouscraftboats.com(it’s the worst site I’ve ever witnessed…the first website they set up did the boats justice, the new one is absolutely terrible). The 16 and 18 flats are the same molds from Flats and Bay. The 16-23’s are fantastic hulls. I can’t speak for the other Famous Craft boats. Some of them look they belong on a Sea World ride.

Hey Jen-n-tonic it sounds like we got the same thing or at least close, the anchor locker is where they are and that is exactly what is happening so I need to get a “bayonet socket with wires” from west marine possibly? This is my first boat and I am trying to learn specific terminology etc… I really appreciate the help cause not to many people have the kind of boat I have I guess. How bout it Chris V you guys got something like that at your shop? What is your shop? Thanks fellas

I bought mine new from Flats and Bay in 2000, and I love it. Perfect hull for our choppy waters, but can still get in some skinny stuff (though not like the Mavericks or Hells Bay jobs). A few guides around here used to run them a while back.
I recommend just pulling the light assembly out of the “shark eye”, then just cut the two wires to the light (leave plenty to work with and don’t let the wire drop down the hole into the hull). Take this to ChrisV or West Marine and they’ll know what you need.

they mnake 2 different ones
if they have the “socket” sticking into the locker, I would change them both out to the perko, they have a little better protection from the back side

the perkos are a direct replacement, so it is definately something you could do yourself, just make sure and use heat shrink connectors

I have a barely used replacements you can have, They are now made with LED if you want to upgrade. PM me if you want one.

I’m pretty sure I have the whole assembly for both sides new in package in a draw if you want them. I’ll have to look they maybe the perko but either you can have them if they will work for you.
