I have some friends coming in town that are renting a small boat from IOP marina in the next few weeks. I do a bunch of shark fishing in the surf but have little experience in the creeks and rivers.
Are there any decent shark holes/areas near the IOP Marina? I’m not asking for secret spots, but any in the area that would be good and easily identified as I’m less familiar with the area. I just want my buddies to catch a few sharks. I imagine this is a small boat so any recommendations in areas that are relatively calm (safe) would be appreciated!
After you pass the no-wake zone out of IOP Marina, turn left at the next creek behind Goat. Put out some shrimp or squid and catch a croaker or whiting. Put the croaker or whiting under a balloon. Good times.

You got that right PitViper?.I’m becoming pretty territorial too, sticking to certain breaks?it’s a good deal being a federal agent getting paid to surf and pick up the girls.
Thanks everyone for the warm welcome and tips?.hope to share a few photos following the weekend.
enjoy that warm welcome while you can get it. The second shift will be along here later. they will be led by 23sailfish and some of the other South Carolina Gamecock faithful.
they’ll probably go down a very long, boring, stroll down memory lane when the Gamecocks actually could beat OSU

PeaPod & Claim,
Thanks again for the spot suggestions and I’m sorry for the delayed report. Unfortunately, weather was predicting heavy rain for the date we had the reservation and so it’s been bumped to early October. I’ve got the holes marked on a GPS app so I’ll be giving them a shot in the next few weeks.
Again, many thanks for the tips and the welcome. Hope to share a few good photos with you guys soon.
