Shark ID

What kind of shark did I catch today?

Finetooth shark.

How long (approximately) was it?

18’ CC w/ 115 Yami

Most likely a Sandbar shark due to the color, distinctly large first dorsal fin, and what looks like an inter-dorsal ridge (between first and second dorsal fins) when I zoom in on the second photo. Almost certainly a sandbar if it was nearshore/inshore.

If you’re not effecting the world around you in a positive manner…you’re taking up too much space.

Actually, I think that in New Jersey this is referred to as a “Big fuggin shaaaackkk!!!”
