Is this an Atlantic Sharpnose shark?

Yep.

Holding him by the tail is a good way to get bitten, he can bend back and bite his tail if he wants too.

Put a death grip behind his head/jaws or use a good boga on him while he’s still in the water.

Also, make sure he’s good and tired before you attempt to pick him out of the water.
