Has anybody tried to fish for sharks with something like a king mackerel rig? I thought of hooking up a fish with the circle hook through the nose and two treble hooks trailing, one in the back and the other on the tail. Sounds like a good idea, but I just don’t know. Any help would be appreciated.
why not just use a piece of blue crab or some cut mullet? No need to get fancy for sharks

Atlantic sharpnose are caught on king mackerel rigs pretty much every day.
The thing about using treble hook is that you don’t always hook the fish in the mouth. It catches them wherever it hits them. That is why you see the kingfish guys using only 1 to 3lbs of drag so not to pull the hook. Like posted above you can catch them with trebles but when you go to put some heavy pressure on them you may pull the hook.
I don’t go shark fishing but they are a by catch of a lot of fishing i do and i usually am using a big circle hook anywhere from a 5/0 to 7/0. If I was to target them I would just use wire and a circle hook for them. Wire being the most important part. Carolina rig style.
they are apain in the butt to get unhooked.no need for the king rig for shark fishing.you will way too much money on tackle.keep it simple.

Some wire leader and a cheap hook and a piece of anything bait.Keep the fingers out of the way.
