I am watching shark week and I want to catch some sharks
any hints on shark fishing riggs and set ups bait etc.

Slap a couple fins on the back and sides of the yak, paddle fast, and wait for the “flying Great White”. That was awesome last night. My little girl was enthralled watching the shark launching up and through the seal decoy.

Carolina rig using 100lb mono.
Bait: Mullet and live Crabs.

Use a baloon on your carolina rig as a flot. Green works best for me.

best bait ever for sharks, kittens. No joke. rubber band that hook to their necks and toss em out. they swim and splash and make lots of noise. I guess the only problem would be keeping a basket of kittens on a yak. Unfortunately, I think they outlawed it.:sunglasses:

In the paper there was a few people giving away kitties to good homes
if that don’t work humane society should have some (just kidding):smiley:

Fishin’ with kittens is like fishin’ with dynamite…it’s only against the law if you get caught…

On the more serious side, seriously just don’t get “Caught”… :slight_smile:

When I fished with the BARF crew for Cobias, I nailed 6 or 7 small sharks by kayak with 20 pound Power-Pro tied to 4 or 5 feet of 80 pound mono with a 5/0 circle hook tipped with a big-o-chunk of cut Shad with just enough weight to get it to stay on the bottom while drift fishing or anchoring in 10-15 feet of water.

I think PETA did hear about it, thats why its ilegal. PETA is a bunch of dumb@$$es. This one I understand but they take their antics a little far. Though I seem to think that if your going to euthanize it any way, why not let someone get some use out of it?

I’m all for fishing with kittens I say we start a petition to change the law. They could start selling them at the tackle shops. Which would mean more revenue, reduce unemployment possibly save the world. Who’s with me?
