We’re to go? What to use? Never done it before!
Looking for sharks?
Take the biggest mullet you catch, put a few cuts in it, and put it on a big hook. Fish near SI where it’s about 45-60’ deep.
If you can get on the outside of the south jetty, fish the rocks for some sheephead. Throw a large piece of cutbait on a hook & steel leader off the back of the boat. If you don’t catch a shark, your chances of catching a big red or some sheepies are pretty darn good!
I hope you’re not a real teacher. We’re means we are.Ok if you want sharks, you need to seek out the shark master 40in reds.He knows more about sharking than anyone I know since captain Quint.
Gilliage, Dynamite Hole, Yellow Can and a lot of other places. In the jetties, put your bait just over the drop off of the channel…probably 35foot of water. They love fresh whiting…so fish for whiting with squid or shrimp and when you get one, make a few cuts on him and put him on the bottom.
Let the shark run before you set the hook. The shark will put the bait in his mouth and start swimming away…let him set the hook.
Best time 1 hour either side of the tide change.

Just an fyi
The dnr told us our harbor had such a low number of sharks when they tested it that his boss wouldn’t pay him to fish for black tips there. 100% I told him I saw blacktips feeding on menhadden just days before in front of the dnr and demetre park and catch sharks in the harbor all the time.
But from my understanding they are doing a study on marine life and how acoustic sounds affect them and already have equipment placed in the harbor so any shark that is tagged with an acoustic tag will ping when its in the harbor.
That’s some great answers to the teacher’s questions.
