Sharks in April?

My grandsons are off the second week in Apr for spring break and we’ll be coming down to spend a couple of days fishing. I’ve been outvoted 2-1, so it looks like we’ll be “shark fishing”. I’m fine with that, but not sure if that’s a little early in the season??

Appreciate any advice anyone can offer pointing us to where/if we may be able to catch a few that time of year. Jetties? Harbor?..maybe that big hole up around IOP I have seen reference too?

Thanks

I got my first bonnethead last year on apr 8…as warm as the waters are already,i bet they will be here before the end of mar this year.

little early for the sharks then…not saying some will not have showed…just not with enough regularity to target. there may be some a little south like saltfisher said.

Fish are too valuable to be caught only once.

Saw a guy haul in a 3 -4 foot blacktip last Friday on the Folly pier.

Should be good numbers of atlantic sharpnose in around that time, esp around the jetties and inlets. Bonnetheads are typically just a little bit later than the sharpnose, but like saltfisher mentioned, expect them early this year!
