Either end of folly is good. The bonnetheads that I’ve caught will only hit live or dead shrimp. I’ve had huge chunk’s of mullet that they cruise pass only to hit shrimp.
I was about 2 miles off the south end of Folly on Saturday and reeled in a few in the 3 to 4 foot range. Also hooked something that snapped 80lb braid like a twig. All caught on shrimp and all fish released unharmed.
